Nicaragua

Nicaragua is located in the middle of the Central American isthmus. It is a tropical country situated between the equator and the Tropic of Cancer, between 11⁰ and 15⁰N latitude.

Its name comes from a word of Náhualt origin, the etymology of which, Nic-Anáhutl, means “up to here,” in reference to where the land’s original inhabitants arrived at from Mexico.
